It’s Time To Dance.

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to plant and a time to uproot,  a time to tear down and a time to build,  a time to mourn and a time to dance Ecclesiastes 3:1-3

I was talking to my friend Jo today… WOW what a journey we have both been on… We are both sojourners… unafraid of that trip through self discovery. Aware that we are here for purpose and our experiences are light lights, lighting up the path we are to go down.

It isn’t always easy… the road is rocky sometimes, the hills unbearable, the seasons bring with it their own challenges….. We both understand that while others can help us, after all that is what we are here for, to be salt and light….. we also know that no one can do it for us.

We know that we are not defined by our worst moments.. or for that matter even our best moments. And, that we are not the total sum of our experiences. Rather; our character and our impact into our worlds comes from who we allow those things to turn us into.

Jo does with music what I try to do through words…. process, express, teach, learn…. in that way, we are very much soul sisters…

We cannot always predict the seasons that we are in… the rough roads we will be asked to go down, the people we will meet… those meaning harm and those there to help.

But, we are getting better at finding the things in each season from which we are to learn from. Being ever present with it. Understanding that even in the pain, there is purpose.

We also know, because our own history has taught us, that somehow God will find a way to make beauty out of ashes…. bring joy where all we could see was pain.

And just when we feel there are no more tears to cry, no more blood to seep, no more air to breath….. the wind blows in, bringing with it a new season…

For me; it’s time to dance…. (No worries Jo, I’ll save the best one for you, when it’s your turn to dance, too… Until then…..You are right where you need to be…..)
