Such amazing words. I have heard them a million times, even sang them a few times. Shoot I have even quoted them a time or two. But, I don’t know that I have ever truly pondered them until this week.
It is an odd charge really. It goes against all that feels natural in those moments.
Sing, like no one is listening. …. Sure I can do that.. I do that. So much so that my youngest, who is now 17 will not go to the movies with me. I love to sing the songs on the sound track, and no I don’t care who is listening in.. apparently he might.
Love like you have never been hurt… Wow; now there’s a piece of advice. I have done a lot of thinking about this one, of late. Perhaps it is just me, but my natural inclination when I have been wronged or hurt is to pull back, to build walls, to retreat. It isn’t, to lean in some one new, or a new situation that can once again leave me feeling vulnerable…
Dance like no one is watching… Yep I can do this one too. I love to dance. I don’t even care if I am considered any good at it. Of course, those of us that dance always do think we are good until we see ourselves on a video or…..
Live Life as it is heaven on Earth. There is no doubt that in order to do this, one has to master the others. SING, LOVE, DANCE… and once we have done those to the degree that they are as much of our nature as breathing, then there is no way that we can not be living life to its fullest.
I have made friends with this sweet little bird, a gray Jay, while up at a friends ranch on top of the world, this week. As I sat out on the landing of the house visiting with my new little friend, in 0 degree weather, I glanced all around our surroundings… wow the dangers that surrounded my little friend. The bobcats, dogs, big birds, and …… yet, he sings. He doesn’t sit there contemplating the million ways that he might meet his demise. Rather, he sings as if, it comes from the heart.
